Lexington CUSD #7 sends its condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. Shirley Kramer, former Lexington CUSD #7 teacher, coach, and "Patriot Award" winner who passed away Monday at the age of 92. Declared a "Lexington Legend" in 2004, Mrs. Kramer was a former physical education teacher and coach for the Lexington Schools, who known for being committed to the health and fitness of all her students. Mrs. Kramer was known by many as being instrumental in establishing girls' athletics in the Lexington Schools during the Title IX era. "She was firm and courageous in fighting for her girls' access and truly a team player who lead by example." 1/9/24 Athletics Update Due to the predicted weather forecast at our junior high opponents schools this evening (volleyball @ DeeMack & Basketball @ Woodland) the decision has been made to cancel these contests. Both schools locally made the decision to not send their students out, so we didn't feel like it would be smart to send our students IN to that forecast. Our new STEAM addition is starting to take shape. Foundations are being poured and slab utilities will be starting soon. The pre-fabricated walls are about six weeks away. Here are some updated photos of the STEAM addition taken from the second story in the High School.

Congratulations to Mary Doll for earning an honorable mention for her "pressure" photographs during the 2023 ArtconnectED virtual photography throwdown! Her work was one of only six award recipients out of the dozens of participants across the state of Illinois. Special thanks to all who took the time to support Mary and her impressive art by voting earlier this week.
