The Lexington Education Advancement Foundation will celebrate a legacy of excellence on Wednesday, Sept. 3 as former teacher and coach Al Schroeder will be recognized as the 2025 Patriot Award Winner. The presentation of the award will take place in between the junior varsity and the varsity volleyball match vs. Dwight High School.
Mr. Schroeder spent 32 years in the classroom at LHS, teaching consumer and business education. Over the course of that time, his lessons ranged from teaching students typing skills, to starting a Mock Trial team that competed against the top schools in the state.
Additionally, from 1988 through 2010, Coach Schroeder guided the Minutemen volleyball program to over 500 victories including multiple 30-win seasons and remarkable campaigns such as 32–4 in 1991–92 and 32–5 in 1993–94. His squads made numerous postseason runs, establishing Lexington as a perennial contender in the region.
We welcome former students, players, and families to come out on Sept. 3rd and help us honor Al Schroeder as the newest “Lexington Legend” as the L.E.A.F. 2025 Patriot Award recipient.
