The community of Lexington is very proud of its schools. The Junior High is no exception. We house the 7th and 8th grades. Seventh graders take the core classes of math, science, English, Social Studies and P.E. along with the exploratory classes of Art and Ag. Chorus and band are also options. The eighth graders take the core classes and Intro to Computers, Home Ec and Health with the same band and chorus options. Academically our students are challenged and achieve very well as evidenced by our outstanding ISAT scores. We have a great faculty who work together with the administration, parents and community to provide an inviting, safe environment.
In addition to the excellent academic offerings, we also provide for a variety of successful extra-curricular activities. The students can join LEARN Club (a youth service organization), Math Team, FFA, or sports of boys baseball, girls basketball, boys basketball, cheerleading, girls volleyball, girls softball, and boys and girls track. Our students have some wonderful opportunities to be involved.
